surgery wanted and no spleen?

I go for my first appointment Thursday, for a four hour appt, seminar, doctor and more. I have been thinking about doing this for years, and have finally gotten the nerve to take the next step. I do not have part of my pancreas or my spleen, I'm wondering if anyone else has done surgery with a similar situation.
