My surgery was May 2nd. No signs of Acid Reflux since surgery! (knock on wood) I developed Gerd about 13 years ago but never associated it with my lap band until I had the endoscopy.

I had GERD during both my pregnancies and it went away after my first but stayed after the second one and thats been 20 years now! I've been taking Omeprazole for years and years and I've been fine.

My surgeon said that my reflux should go away once the revision to rny is done. I don't understand why it is virtually eliminated with rny since there is still a pouch and restriction involved? Do you still get stuck with the rny pouch?
