What does everyone pre-op diet look like.? Mine is basically a high protein low carb diet. I will learn more next week at the pre-op appt.

Mine starts April 30. A protein shake for breakfast, a protein shake for lunch and a lean cuisine for dinner. I also need to drink 64 ounces of water during the day.

Surgery date: May 14, 2013

These first couple of days are ging to be the hardest I think or at least I hope

I start my pre op diet next monday the 22nd. Ill be 2weeks away. I have to drink 5 protein shakes a day and ill only have 4 cheat days.

I started my pre-op diet on March 25th....it's a 6 week diet. I am in week 4 which consists of 2 high protein shakes, 2 small protein shakes, a salad (lettuce, cheese, & Chicken) and SF jell-o and SF pudding. When I hit week 5 & 6 I will only be on liquid so I will mostly be drinking high protein shakes. It has been hard but knowing that my surgery is just around the corner only helps my motivation. I am determined to stick to the diet plan the last 2 weeks to make sure that I am healthy inside and to help the surgery be successful.

Hello everyone!! I'm a little sad because my date was originally 4/29 however it got rescheduled today for 5/20. But on the bright side at least I'm still having it! So I'm gonna be in this group.

Hello and welcome to our May surgery group..... you're in a great group of people. Remember , everything happens for a reason. Good luck on your journey.

Debbie.....Dr. P told me 3 shakes a day plus the lean cuisine and water. You should double check.....last day 4 shakes, no food.

Day two pre op down and going better today than yesterday did find out I am allowed to eat some fresh fruit I was supposed to add to shakes but since I am using sugar free flavored syrups that add absolutely nothing but taste to my diet I can have the fruit on the side so that was a blessing

I start my pre op diet this Sunday! Liquids only for this girl! 5 shakes a day plus any other sugar free, caffeine free liquids... I'm gonna miss the crunch factor! Lol :)

I just finished all my requirements except for workshops. My program requires three educational workshops before surgery. The April ones were full so I'm scheduled for May 7' date=' 14, and 21. My coordinator is going to try to get preapproval so the surgery can be scheduled imediately following the last workshop. My surgeon does surgery on Wed and Thurs so we're shooting for May 22 or 23. I'm crossing my fingers...[/quote']

Yay! I got my preauthorization from my insurance co! It was very fast. Once I start my workshops in May they will schedule my surgery. Still looking at May 23rd, as long as my doctor's schedule doesn't fill up.

Lookingforward16 where are you from mine is liquid based but since I was allowed the fruit in the shakes I just allowed to eat it
