My nutritionist told me that since I'm past the 3 week post-op mark, I can now move on to soft foods from the pureed foods that I've been on.
I must say, I'm excited but scared too because I fear getting sick. I went food shopping yesterday evening and picked up a variety of food I can now have. Many things I purchased were lowfat so that's a change for me. My local supermarket is small and doesn't have a great variety of healthy foods so I go to one not close to home but where I know I will find more foods good for me now.
I bought Italian-style meatballs (beef), lowfat American & cream cheese, low-sodium ham, angel hair pasta, low sugar ketchup, etc. I think I overdid it, lol but I don't think most of these things will spoil quickly. I'm starting off breakfast today With a one-egg, egg salad, and a piece or two of ham. I hope it goes down well. Wish me luck!
