Learning...

I started my pureed diet last Thursday and I've had my ups & downs with it. I've had to learn to pace myself when I eat or drink. I am trying to wait a minute between sips and bites. Even though I'm allowed up to a half cup of food, I still need to learn that full sensation that is not so close to getting sick.

It's so weird, I was on my liquid diet for quite a long time (since November) due to all my complications, and I really wasn't hungry. I could have people eating around me and I didn't crave, I could handle. Just a day or two before I was switched to puree foods I started feeling hungry and craving foods. There are so many food commercials on TV!

So now I crave all kinds of foods I used to eat and love (none good for me; pizza, hamburger, BLT, etc) and I feel hungry between meals sometimes. I'm allowed up to 4 meals and maybe a snack if I'm still hungry.

This process of changing my eating habits is sure playing With my head.

Sometimes I can't tell if it's actual hunger or just my mind and pallate craving.
