A couple questions...

I am 7 months into my 12 month supervised physician requirement for my insurance. I've been visiting my PCP monthly for a weigh-in, and I've been to the informational session at the surgeon's office, had a History and Physical appt. with the surgeons PA, had my initial appt. with the nutritionist and one additional appt (they are monthly up to surgery), had a gallbladder ultrasound to check for gallstones, and am going for my psychological eval next week. I think I have done everything up to this point that I can do to prepare. Does anyone know at what point I'd see the surgeon and/or get a scheduled date for my surgery? My last monthly weigh in will be in early June, does the surgeon generally wait for insurance approval before he schedules a preop appt. with me, or does the insurance need the surgery date in order to approve? I know it's not going to be anytime soon, but I need something new to obsess over for a while ;)

I'm curious to know what insurance you have because I have Anthem BCBS and I had to do the 12 month too but I haven't had to meet with anyone only the over the phone consults with the insurance reps and my biweekly phone meetings. You're the first one I've seen on here that has to do the 12 month.

I've got anthem bcbs and I didn't have to do a 12 month thing. I've had a physc eval, surgeon consolation, nutritionist appointment and I'm waiting for insurance approval. I did have to go re weigh yesterday because in November my BMI was 39.9 and they had to have me at/over 40- gotta love those Holliday pounds (thank goodness) BMI was 40.6
