May Bandsters~February Chat!

Hey fellow Maysters!! I hope this finds everyone healthy and happy!

As I enter month 9 of my banding journey I am amazed at how far I have come. I have done so many things this past few months that I would have NEVER done a year or so ago. The biggest thing is probably roller derby. No way in hell would I have put myself out there like that a year ago! Last night I went through a grueling 2 hour practice that included core strengthening and endurance excercises and drills. I never would I have thought I would be able to keep up... and I did! I was even in the top 4 of the other Baby Dolls (us newbies)! I never knew I could sweat and stink as much as I do when I get in the car after practice. WHEW! I was awesome to skate with the girls that have been doing this for a long time and be told that they were very impressed with me. I was absolutley GLOWING when I left the rink last night. My hubby is just thrilled with the change in me and my giddy excitment when I come home from practice just thrills him to no end.

I had another fills last Tuesday.. I now have 2.5cc's in my band. Between that and 2 hard practices I dropped 4 pounds this week! YAY! :)

What about you? What can you do (or are you doing) that you couldn't do before banding??

Neal, I ahve noticed that you seem to have lost a lot more weight than others who have been banded for the same period of time. To what do you attribute your good losses? And, if I may ask, have you lost any hair? I plan to be banded in May or early june, and I am worried as much about hair loss as anything else, evern though I know this is not rational. I'm just curious about your thoughts/

Well, it's March but I haven't been able to post for a while because of work. When I'm on my dayshifts, I just don't get a chance to get on the computer because I just come home, eat a little and go to bed. Then everyone in my house has been sick with the flu....my youngest son sounds like a comsumption patient.....and I have been trying to deal with that. Luckily, all I got a running nose and a bit of a cough, but that's about it.

I did have a GREAT NSV this weekend. I decided to "Clean Sweep" my bedroom. And in the great purge I found a set of chaps that my DH had bought me last summer in hopes that I could wear them this summer. So I got brave, slipped them on, buckled up and they fit!!!!! They are a men's size M and a bit long (everything I own is a bit long anymore) but they fit in the legs and around the waist. So now I can be a WARM biker babe when the snow melts enough to go for a ride. It's funny, clothes still catch me by surprise. I put on a pretty salmon colored sweater the other day, thinking it was a nice spring sweater and it was just hanging on me. Made me happy, but also a bit sad because I REALLY need to get some new nice weather clothes.

Marz - I'm so glad to hear about your nephew. Hopefully things will continue to go good for him.

OU - you look great!

Linda - you have lost an amazing amount and you do so much more exercise than I do! You are my inspiration to get "back in the groove" with my walking.

For all of you that are still sick.....Get well quick!
