Wow.. A year! I have been at it since last April. I naively thought I'd be ready to go last summer, now I'm hoping for December. Congrats on your weight lost so far. That's fantastic! You are obviously motivated. I think you are going to do amazing with surgery.

I know I thought last summer for me too. I changed doctors offices because the first one was horrible about communicating and keeping me posted. They told me my insurance required a six month diet and I missed one timely weigh in and i was told i had to start all over.

I was heart broken and begged her to go to someone else that nutitionist made me feel like a failure every month. SHE set up a weightloss goal of losing 40 pounds prior to surgery and had me believing it was a requirement. each month I returned not losing anything. Id walk in the doors head down tail tucked and cry in her office. it was so punishing. around the same time i got fired at work and couldn't bear facing her. so i skipped my appointment. then I was told Id have to start over. So i went somewhere else. I never ever wanted to see that first nutritionist ever again. I punish myself enough.

The new doctor was so much better. He made me believe I was gonna be okay and together we would solve . this obesity problem one step at a time. I have wanted to follow his lead and do everything he asked and mire. on my own I began to cut back on carbs and eat mostly meat veggies and fruit. I also started walking and exercising He put me on weightloss aides and vitamins. His office people found out that my insurance never required a six month diet only a five year documented weight history. ugh!!!! so I literally spun my wheels for most of this year. But I guess Its all for the good because I am certain I want the surgery and have had all this time to get mentally prepared.

Way to stick with it and choose another doctor. Sometimes we have to stick up for ourselves. Hopefully this new doctor will not require a long to do list. Good luck!
