Calories

How many calories a day does everyone average? I was at 800, one month post op and was told that was too much, by my dietician. My daily diet has consisted of 2 protein drinks, with skim milk, cottage cheese, a yogurt. Dinner, small piece of chicken or fish and maybe 3-4 bites of vegetables! Help!

I'm 1 month out and I'm under 500 cal a day. I'm about 50 protein grams a day. My diet is a protein shake. Maybe an egg a quarter cup of cottage cheese and a thin slice of lunch meat and cheese. And that would be a very full day. But someone on this site told me under 500 is bad but I was not told that by my doc as long as I keep my protein up.
