Does anyone know of a free online calorie counter? I thought I found one but when I finished putting all my food for the day in it, I was told I had to pay for a membership to actually get my total calories for the day.

I use sparkpeople and I love it! It's really easy to use and has lots of products already on there so you don't have to enter everything manually. You can keep track of your exercise too.

I have also been using fitday.com for about a year now.

IMO - fitday.com is the best.

I've used it in the past and plan to use it again in the future.
