Its almost winter!

  • Popular Post

And this is the time of year I did my "best" eating

In the past...

I think I may have been a bear in a past life,

Trying to fatten up to slumber through the cold months :P

The last couple of days I'm feeling the chill, having a harder time taking in my 70 oz of freezing cold liquids.. I'm a creature of comfort and got used to my cold cold drinks everyday and my almost frozen Greek yogurt frozen blueberry combo.

With the chill my mind wants to snuggle up to something warm and comforting.

I have a feeling that I'm not alone on the old patterns of putting on the weight over winter?

How do you get through the weather transitions?

I would love to know as I sit here with my warm mug of tea...

I am finding if I eat carbs, I get hungry very quickly afterwards. I made a soft tortilla with lots of deli ham and a little bit of cheese in it. I portioned it into 8. I ate two pieces today and I swear, I was hungry 1 hour later. I'm starting to get worried about this hunger thing.. Nothing seems to last longer than 2 hours, at the most and I'm getting 1500ml of fluid in a day.. what's that? 50 oz? I am, as the Irish would say, confushed....

I have to keep my meals real protien dense to keep satisfied. Funny enough yogurt fills me though, that's why I'm mourning the hot weather.

Eating ice cold yogurt when your ice cold?

No bueno!

But you're prolly not eating a lot when you do eat...a couple bites at most?

Do you not put the unflavored protein in your soups?

I try to get my protein through food.

you know I really don't eat Soup unless its a bowl of spicy seafood soup at my favorite Mexican restaurant which is once or twice a year...

Chili is good! I make a turkey black bean chili that's warm and filling..

I dunno.. I get in about 4-6 bites.. rest a bit.. another 3-4 bites. Admittedly they're small... But I think its quite plentiful for 14 days out. I may have to re-strategise the protein thing....

Laura, thanks for always sharing your true feelings. I'm glad to know this before my first sleeved winter because winter affects me in a similar way.

I drink the Proti-diet hot chocolate many nights. 90 calories and 15 grams of Protein. To me it is so delicious, hot, and so comforting. I got it on that website that you told us about a couple months ago :-)

How about draining a serving of Fage 0% plane, mix with 1/4 cup egg beaters or egg whites, some stevia, vanilla, and your blueberries, and bake! Eat warm.

No way??? Would that work?? OMG you are a genius!! <3

Its worth a try! Don't know how creamy it would be, but I bet it would taste good! You could serve your spoonful of granola under, as the "crust"

They also have it in a box of 7 pouches if you want to try it before you buy a whole tub of it.
