Nov 16 in Puerto Vallarta

My boyfriend got the sleeve a year ago and has lost over 130 pounds. He is scheduled in to get excess skin removed and I am going to have the Sleeve done. Very nervous but so tired of the yo-yo dieting and seeing the pills my mother takes for her health. Doing it now while I'm still young and relatively healthy at 41. Would love to swap stories. 7 weeks out! We have been talking about this for a while and I just wish it was tomorrow!

Hi there. Welcome to the November group! I'm a little older than you...turned 44 last month.

I'm penciled in for 11/14/13 in Las Vegas. I have a countdown ticker on my phone...6 weeks from today. Where are you getting yours done?

I, too, saw a path in front of me that was a bit scary - watching my mom inject herself with insulin, see her difficulty getting around, not able to do things because of her weight, etc. When I told her about my surgery she said apologized for not being a better mom (like she was the one forcing me to Dairy Queen to get an Oreo Blizzard with extra Oreo) and said if surgery would have been an option when she was my age, she would have done it.

Sounds like you have a great support person in your boyfriend since he's already been thru this.

Again, welcome and I look forward to hearing your success stories in the future!
