Looking for a Vegas buddy

Hi I will have surgery before X-max and I'm looking for someone to share their experience with me and help me through difficult times. If and when questions arise. Thank you :)

Zoe,

What part of town do u live in? Have u tried adding a protein isolate to the food u can get in?

It took me a while to be able to get all my protein in when I started adding real food into the mix. Just don't over do it and try to eat too much at one time to get your protein in.

Nikki

Are you on all whole foods now? I am just starting the transition from pureed into foods, slowly. I have one out two meals that are whole, then one that is pureed, plus I still have to supplement with shakes it hot chocolate to get in the 90 grams my doctor wants. Do u have suggestions of foods you have used to transition or ones that worked well?

I am 10 months out. For puréed I did a lot chicken salad/canned chicken, egg salad, and cheeses. Chili is also a good option. I think I did taco meat as well.

Let me know if you have anymore questions!!

I live on the southwest part of Vegas in the spring valley area. Yes I try putting some of that into some foods, I'm just a stickler for food textures! I need to stop being so picky I guess haha this process is definitely a lot harder then I imagined!!

I tried ground turkey taco meat tonight with some spices and salsa added, couldn't get 4 oz. down. I did manage to get 4 ounces down at lunch, barely, using refried beans and a meatball.

Zone,

I am a texture girl too. Try making a slurry with some warm water and the protein isolate and add it to what ur eating. If what I am eating calls for water, I use what I am using for slurry in my total amount.

Vicki,

Taco meat works great! It's one of only a few things I can eat 4oz of at a time. I ate ceviche the other night with shrimp cut really small. It was delicious. I also found salmon salad at Trader Joe's that I am enjoying.

I was sleeved by Dr. Soong on Dec 23, 2013. Been going to LVA on Rainbow and lost over 35 pound. Started soft foods and I take two small bites and I'm really full I burp a a lot when I'm full. Don't find to many people from Vegas here glad to find this thread.

We go to the same gym!! My next gym day is Monday... Going to the 5am spin and 6am body pump classes!! :)

I don't have the money for a gym membership. Trying to start walking and maybe some core exercises.

My gym day is Monday at 6pm I go with my sister. We won't to try body pump but the classes are always packed. But today the Zumba class was pretty empty. Saturday is are new Zumba day. LVA has a good special $5 to join and $23 monthly I paid for two years and it comes out to $17 month. They have different plans and it is worth the money with all the classes included.

I was sleeved 12/19/13 by Dr. Tom Umbach. Nice to meet everyone and find this thread.

Piggy Piggy,

Unfortunately, I don't work full-time so money is an issue. I am looking at the multi-generational center.

Mich-welcome!

Nice to see more people from Vegas! How's everyone doing? Does anyone know when we are okay to start trying solid foods? I will be 6 weeks on Wednesday but don't have a checkup appt till the following week. I'm just getting sick of the same foods I'm ready to start something new!
