How long were you on a liquid diet before surgery? My doctor only requires 2 weeks but I have heard that some people were on liquids longer than that.

Mine was one week of not complete liquids. 870 cal/day. 3-4 protein shakes during the day and a Healthy Choice or similar tv dinner at night. First 3 days felt like torture, but after that, it wasn't a problem.

It's all in the shrinking of the liver. For many, the doc also wants them a little bit of a lower weight. I was a last minute rush/ fit into tight schedule. I had less than a week on a mostly liquid diet.

Two weeks. (On day 6 now)

My diet is bullion, farina, low fat yogurt, watered down oatmeal, Jello, crystal light, diet decaf tea, decaf coffee and 2 Protein shakes daily.
