Mad Heartburn!

I was sleeved July 16th, and I am on my clear liquid diet. I am sipping water, juice and broth and I am having terrible heartburn, like Montezuma's revenge heartburn. Malox, chewabes, GasX strips- nothing is helping. I may just need to suffer through it. Is this something that will last forever?

My dr put me on a PPI (like Prilosec, Zanac, Pepcid) for the 1st 3 mths. I already went in this with bad reflux (slipped band) and was already taking RX Prilosec. Haven't had any problems with heatburn so far (knock on wood).

You may try running it across to him/her (A PPI - Proton Pump Inhibitor)

Take your ppi or an antacid and call your doctor.

My surgeon had me on 40mg of Prilosec for a full 12 weeks post-op. I now have lower dose that I still take as needed. I would call your surgeon's office. This is very common, and luckily, very easy to treat.

I had a check up with my surgeon on Friday. I have lots of acid, I'm still burping like crazy, and my stomach cramps when I drink. I'm scheduled for another egd on Wednesday.....
