I just realised something...

i'm going for my first fill on tuesday and looking forward to it.

but as i was thinking..... i had forgotten that the dr. probably uses a needle to do the fill...... my question is, does it hurt???? do they need a local anaesthetic??? how does this work....

The needle actually going in doesn't hurt much if you ask me, as it's such a small amount of tissue that they're passing through to get to your port.

After they access you port it can feel a little odd, because it's moving around a bit in your ab muscle. It doesn't hurt, it just feels a little weird. I don't really know how else to describe it.

You'll be fine though, and it'll before you even know it! Good luck!

I had no pain, couldn't even feel the prick. The nurse thought this was odd. However, just like Jack having gone through Chemotherapy, I have been stuck so many times in so many places (and still do) that I am probably numb to the idea of getting stuck.
