I was sleeved July 8 and had two hernias repaired. I was unaware that I had a hiatal hernia or an umbilical hernia. When I woke from sedation, the nurse told me that I had two hernias repaired. The pain caused by the umbilical hernia repair is intense. I can only compare it to my c-section years before. I felt like I had been sawed in half. I went for my one week check up today. I am down 11 lbs. all looks well except the continued pain at the site of the belly button and up my left side. The nurse said the only cure is time. I was not prepared for this type of pain and recovery. The other surgical wounds cause ZERO pain. If not for the hernias, I think I would be well on my way. Just thought I would post in case someone else finds themselves in the same position.
