OK, I am up and about shopping ect. Still can't wear a regular bra  but I was wondering does anyone have the hiccups? I am 6 days post op. Also, I want to burp but cant so I just exhale and it feels better. Does anyone else do this? Am I taking in to much?

My diet today

3 oz p. shake 9:00

1/2 sf pudding cup 11:30

1 sf pudding cup 3:00

3oz p shake 5:00

1 c sf coco 7:00

I am suppose to fit in 3 p shakes a day but I can't!:paranoid

Congrats on your banding. Do the best you can those first days out of surgery but don't expect to get a lot in. I had no appetite until this past week. I was amazed that I could only fit in a half pudding in a sitting. Unfortunately, I can now eat the whole thing, but I know that is the right thing. Just make sure in between your food, you are sipping Water to stay hydrated. Your swelling will go down in a few days and you will be able to eat more Protein. I never had the hiccups but I have seen others talk about them. Just makesure you take things slowly, little sips, and you should be fine. Best wishes!

Congratulations on your banding! Try taking a chewable Gas-X tablet with each meal. I am almost 2 weeks post-op and have had absolutely no gas pains or hiccups yet. I'm so glad my doctor advised us to take Gas-X!

My docs advised us to drink our Protein shakes first, then to have other things such as puddings, Jello, etc. They emphasized over and over in our nutrition classes the importance of meeting our Protein needs (90g+/day) before anything else. He didn't want us to lose lean muscle mass or to get too hungry during the healing process (I'm still trying to find anything lean on my flabby old body--I'll have to take his word for it that it's there)! :faint:

As KayDotRn said, the swelling will start to go down for you soon. My appetite just came back about two days ago (10 days post-op). You'll find that you'll be able to drink more easily once this happens.

Hang in there--as my mom used to say, "This too shall pass!"

Happy New Year!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
