Wanted to post my experience as of 12 hrs out...

Well I had my surgery this am @ 830.. dr said it was only 20 min long!! No jp drain..I do have a "pain ball" expelling pain meds to my abd area...I have dilauded on a pca pump. ..not having to use that much! I'm still NPO because I have upper GI scheduled tmro am to check for leaks...then I can go to liquid diet...thank God I'm hungry.thirsty all that.

Wose part is gas pains and nausea but nausea was mostly in the very beginning after surgery. I actually feel really good considering...well its time to walk again every 2 hrs... god luck to all hope this gives some insight on what its like...

Glad you are feeling good. Not being able to drink all day after surgery was so hard. I got a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a cup of water and would brush me teeth every 30 min to an hour and then swish water around but not swallow. It was a lifesaver that day!
