Good for you for starting back and for starting slow...as you progress you might want to try a Precor AMT (adaptive motion trainer) if your gym has them...I tried one at my gym the other day and, boy oh boy, it kicked my butt in a way that the elliptical doesn't with the same level of effort :-)

Precor AMT - is that marketing speak for the heart rate programs that get harder based on your pulse? That was the first thought that popped into my mind. Now I will do t right thing and go google tat term. :)

Lol...no marketing speak, that is the name of the machine...it is an "all-in-one" no-impact cardio machine that allows users to seamlessly adjust from short to long strides to replicate climbing stairs, walking and running.
