:eek: the doc think there is a small leak in the port, she says we can fill it every month and then let the liquid come out slowly and refill it or we can go back and put a new one in. which one should i do and why?

Did the Dr. have anything to say regarding infection if it were allowed to just ooze?

Also---who is paying for the monthly fills? That could get costly!

Is the Dr. sure it is the port and not a tube leak? could it have been hit during a prior fill?

And what is the Dr.'s reccomendation and why?

I would ask lots of questions of the Dr. and then make a decision.

Do you have coverage (insurabce) for a replacement?

Wow.... this sounds familiar! I had a leak in my tubing and had my port and tubing replaced in November.

Gee...I think considering the cost of fills I would go for the replacement especially if the insurance were paying for it all...Keep us posted on what you decide.
