February is go

Hi all. Well I saw the surgeon today, and I will be having the surgery on Friday February 2nd. We had quite a good discussion. I kind of flipped out though and my heart started racing when he gave me the obligatory talk about the possible risks of the surgery ie death etc.

I knew that this was the case of course, but it is pretty sobering all the same.

I am by nature a stress head at times, and I always instantly assume the worst. I was already thinking I must show my sister my funeral plan papers, so she knows what to do should anything happen. As I type I am still stressing about it.

I am determined to make this work,so I will do my best.

Scared. Susannah

Hi, forgot to tell you all that I will be getting the new AP? band. My surgeon said it is softer and they believe that you can lose more weight with it. Are they giving everyone that band now? I am happy to be getting the new one. Susannah

Don't stress out, you'll be fine. I had more trouble with my root canal than my banding surgery. I don't know about the band. I wanted the lowprofile band, and that's what I got. Mine's the inamed 9.75cm that holds 4cc's. I am sure the newer the better, that's usually the case. It's a very quick, simple operation and you'll do great. Congrats on your surgery date.

Hi susannah

Congrats on your surgery date! Dont worry too much about it...for all the so called risks it is sooo... worthwhile.

Best wishes...keep us posted we are always here for you.

:) becky

I was banded last week - I wasnt really worried about the risks of surgery, but driving to the hospital I told my husband "oh, just in case I don't make it, can you......." I think he was more worried about the op than me!

I got the information leaflet on the band I have got, but I am not sure exactly what type it is
