Crystal Light sickness

I am pre-op, and trying to start on cutting back on the sugar intake. This will be the hardest for me, so best to start early! I will do the pre-op diet 1 week before surgery.

Here's my deal....I can drink CL, but it increases my stomach acid. I really want to barf right now...but need the Water. Does anyone else have this problem? I am already on Prilosec (Rx'ed 40mg, 2 times a day), and this has no effect! I believe it is the artificial sweetener that is causing this.

Any suggestions on what else I can drink? I just hate plain water. :P I already have unsweet tea and green teas on the list, but I sure do like fruity flavors. :)

Thanks!

You can always add sliced oranges, lemon, grapefruit and mint to your water. It will flavour it and you have a handy snack too

I like Vitamin Water Zero, it has several flavors that are more mild than the Crystal Light. Good luck!

I really like the syntrax nectar protein powder. I find it not quite as sweet as the Crystal Light. The pkg I use is 100 cals but 23g of protein. I fill my 20 oz water bottle with water, ice the pow

I can't stand the taste of plain Water either.

Use 1/3 of the recommended amount of Crystal Light. It's way too strong, surgery or not.

The Target house brand (forget the name, Archer Farms maybe?) has some nice flavors like melon (my favorite) and pineapple that when when you use just a pinch add a nice flavor to water. It comes in the single serve sticks in a box, not the 3 or 4 tubs to a canister. One stick is enough for 4 or 5 bottles of water.

I forgot to mention Meyer Lemons are delicious in water also. They sell them at Whole Foods. Much better than a regular lemon. Well worth the price difference, but I try to get them on sale anyway. You can get three glasses of water flavored from one lemon.

Love these ideas!

Also? The Whovian reference means you win. ^_^

Vixynne- that's just fantastic, what Whovian reference? Rebecasparkles could be French for all you know! ;). Geronimo!

Sobe Lifewater is good, too.
