I have Aetna as well. They denied me twice. I got approved about 2 weeks ago by doing an appeal. Now the surgeons office is taking their time getting me scheduled.

After turning in all requested info to aetna ins, what was the approval turn around time?

I did my appeal on March 27. I had to turn my weight history from 2011. I was approved by April 8.

I have Aetna thru my husbands job and I started the process in Sept. 2012 and was required to take 4 health and nutrition classes ( Sept - Dec.)1 psych evaluation(Feb), I meeting with the dietician(March), and 1 with the Dr.(March) had a tentative date scheduled for April 11, 2013 and was approved almost down to the wire! Tomorrow will be 2 weeks post op! Keep at it and good luck!
