About two weeks for mine.

It really depends on the insurance, the doctor's office and if they are all doing their jobs. My last appointment with the surgeon was Dec. 7th. They submitted my paperwork to the insurance the end of December and I'm still waiting. There was an issue with the doctor not being in network, so I had to switch to the other doctor in the same office. Should have been an easy fix IF the insurance coordinator at the office AND the insurance pre-cert rep were doing their job. They were not and I had to stay on them.

At this point the insurance pre-cert rep is ready to approve me, but I need to meet with the new doctor and get his okay. That happens tomorrow. So I'm hoping by early next week to have an approval. Some get approved right away, and some have issues (like me). Hang in there and stay on top of everyone involved. I wasted a few weeks waiting to hear something and it turned out that the insurance was waiting on the office and vise versa. So FRUSTRATING!

Oh my gosh. I thought I'd waited forever! I finished my apps and submitted everything to the office one month ago today. I called Friday last week and insurance didn't have anything yet. I can't get ahold of my insurance coordinator now to see if the hold up is because of something else I need to do or she's just overwhelmed.

It's great that insurance can approve quickly, but not always do they get your paperwork in a timely fashion.
