Addictive Personality Disorder

If this isn't a disorder in the medical world it should be and I think I have it. It's amazing to me to look back over the last few years and see that I really do have APD. My struggle these days is that I've taken away the things that I've been addicted to my whole life and now I feel like I'm lost and scrammbling for something to replace them. I quit smoking(which I desperately miss) and now I can't eat either.....my coping abilities seem to be all over the map when I'm faced with a stressful situation because the two things I would have turned to in order to cope are no longer available to me and holy cow does that suck!

I need a hobby...anyone else feel like this?

I agree with you Cloe about a new hobby (this site.) I was never interested in the computer until i did my research of the lapband.

*snickers* aaaaah, what I could say here!!! I could run with this so many different ways!! Once again, I shall refrain!

:speechles

LOL... Ya but you see, my husband is Irish too! So he's thinking what ya'll are thinking. Oh, his fingers are pretty muscular, he must be excersizing without me:eek: . LOL

Ahem.........I check in on the latest postings on this thread about addictive personality disorders and what do I read but stuff about abusing sheep. You guys are sick sick sick. (What makes me think you already know that! LOL). I may just have to pack up my identity and become an American! In a huff, I may add.

I don't think there's a "behavioral problem" or a psych diagnosis in store for us. I think it's related to dopamine receptors...like these folks do.

For me, the "cure" will be a way to regulate dopamine and dopamine receptors...not confessing to a character flaw and putting forth an effort to NOT do what our brains are telling us TO do.
