Thanksgiving

With thanksgiving coming up I was wondering if bread stuffing is a problem. I was just banded Oct 31st so Im wondering what I could eat for thanksgiving since I will be in my soft food stage.

Hi, I teach school and we just had our annual Thanksgiving lunch today. Turkey, dressing and all the fixings. I was banded on Oct.3rd. Today I had a few bites of white turkey meat, about 1 cup of soft, gravy laden stuffing, a bite of cranberry sauce and a few green beans. I know, I know....I should have had the turkey and no stuffing but this was my slpurge for the week. :success1: Everything sat real well on my tummy. No problems. I did feel "stuffed" :) though. I think the stuffing went down so eaily becaue it was so soft and had so much gravy on it.

BTW....that stuffing was sooooooo.........good........

Maybe by TG, you can enjoy it too.

I would say as a general rule, run not walk away from the bread dressing. Most bandsters have trouble with gooey bread like textures and I think stuffing falls into that category. You will be on soft foods so some mashed potatoes and gravy, maybe some turkey that's been blended. Don't tempt it so soon out from surgery. My 2 cents.

I just had a fill Monday and told the doctor to fill me up, if I could only eat cranberry sauce that would be fine with me! LOL!

But I have eaten stove top stuffing?!?

Hey, I posted a Sausage-Mushroom Dressing over in the food/recipes section. It is GREAT...I am not kidding...and I am a picky eater. The recipe uses mushrooms instead of breading. Check it out! I'm making some to take with me on Thursday.
