gastric band plication?

My Dr. wants to pursue the gastric band plication for me because of my health risk of being on peritoneal dialysis and not wanting to cut my stomach. Has anyone had this, heard of this, anything???

I don't know about the procedure personally, but I have come across it this weekend doing internet research. Instead of actually cutting away a portion of the stomach, they invert it into itself and suture or staple it in to place. It would give you a smaller stomach volume like the VGS, but would be much less invasive. However, it would not decrease the amount of ghrelin in your system (a hormone that stimulates hunger and sweets craving). I hope this helps a little - maybe someone else will have more information. Good luck on your weight loss journey!

I have it and love it! i also had reasons for choosing this over vsg. I was nervous at first, did my research. Found some pals on here and the lb forum that have it done as well. It's still taboo because its so new but all wls were at one point right? And it's been done for the last 10 years just newer over here. I am confident in the changes they've made in eliminating the " loss of blood to remaining stomach" and so on. Anyway if you have any questions feel free to pm me:)
