Pre-Op Questions

Hi, I'm scheduled for my surgery this Monday. Having a terrible time with the protein shakes. I have tried Unjury and GNC I get them down then they come right back up! Tonight I decided to go through my paperwork for day before surgery list of what I am allowed to eat. As I looked I notices that the 2 week liquid diet does not have yogurt or oatmeal on it BUT the day before surgery it's on the list?? Does that make sense to anyone? I would be doing fine with my protein if I could be eating Greek yogurt!!! I called my doctors office but they are closed until tomorrow.

why don't you try carnation instant breakfast (sugar free) for your protein... and no - you shouldn't have that oatmeal the day before surgery - it should be all clear liquids....

I'm having surgery this Monday!!! Good luck! I can't eat yogurt afterwards until I'm two weeks out, in the purée stage. It's not technically a liquid so you aren't supposed to eat it in the liquid stage. Just follow your doctors orders exactly, that's what I plan on doing

Thanks! I'm going to call them in the morning. I need to stop and get the Carnation instant breakfast. I am trying!

And my surgeon allows me to have yogurt and puréed fruit on day three post op. All surgeons have different food requirements. I'd follow what yours says.

I am on day 3 of pre op and very light headed. Any ideas?? I have surgery on the 28th. My doc has me on shakes and chicken and vegs for lunch.
