Everything smells so good.

Before my surgery dinner consisted of drive thru or me making dinner. Now that I have had the surgery on December 31 suddenly its cookbooks. I go into the hospital and come out 2 days later and suddenly all food is cooked at home and all my favorites. I guess im frustrated because it smells good but I cant have any. I say can you warn me so I can go into another room. Just can't deal with the memories, weird but I do miss my comfort food. Does it ever get easier?

Going out at lunch is the hardest because everyone is eating, I think about all of the fast-food choices out there. Will it get any easier?

Luckily for me, the first couple of weeks post op, the smell of food made me very sick. I only wanted liquids and was scared I'd never want real food again. My body naturally craved things like yogurt and oatmeal during week 3, so healing & transition was easy.

By week 4 I was ready for real food again - namely MEAT!!

Now I listen to my body and let myself have what I crave, I just only eat1/4 to 1/2 cup now and my hubby finishes my plate

It's hard going back to work and eating lunch with co-workers. Everything they bring looks so good! At a meeting this morning there were trays of Panera bagels and several tubs of cream cheese. I kinda pouted to myself because, of course, I couldn't have any. It is hard. I hope this gets easier.....
