Getting sleeved next week!

Hi! Tomorrow is my pre-op appointment and my surgery date is scheduled for Jan 10! I'm excited but nervous that I will be surprised by the discomfort or difficulty in eating. The thought of eating puréed foods grosses me out. I'd rather just have protein shakes. My question is, is there any advice you wish you would have prepared for mentally or physically to adjust to the surgery better??

Hi Cyn~! My preop appt is the 11th so you will be in recovery! I hope to have a date soon after that. pureed food seriously grosses me out and baby food? Not an option! Best wishes for an easy recovery and much success!

I am 2 days post op and feel pretty good. The first day I was real sore. It almost seems like a fog because of the morphine I was on. I feel pretty good now considering I just had major surgery. It was easy for me to hold down water. I am optimistic. I'm not the least bit hungry yet.

Glad you are doing well. Have you been just having water or broth an Jello too? When do you think you will start to take Vitamins? Do you have trouble walking around the house or is it easy?

At the hospital I ate broth. jello, juice. coffee and water. I did not walk the day of surgery because I was so dizzy. Yesterday and today no problem walking. I got a b12 shot today plus I took a multi vitamin. I take lots of cat naps. good luck.
