Has anyone been successful in gaining coverage for lap band with a written exclusion for it in their policy? I have Coventry of KS - and have been denied. I decided to self pay (4 days until banding:)). Any advice on filing anyway, just in case they start covering it in the future?

If your having surgery and applying for approval after the fact, you will not have a prayer. Written exclusions comes from the employer not the insurance company. Good luck on your surgery. It was the best thing I ever did. You will do great.
