If your having surgery and applying for approval after the fact, you will not have a prayer. Written exclusions comes from the employer not the insurance company. Good luck on your surgery. It was the best thing I ever did. You will do great.

You will do great. I never took a pain pill, the pain was very minimal. I was up and around walking 1 hour after my surgery. Good luck, it's really not as bad as I expected.

My surgery was on April 4th and I was so scared in the weeks before, I really thought I would not wake up. While I was in the preop area the anesthologist gave me a iv and that's all i know, I have no recollection of putting the had on my head, no knowledge of been wheeled out of the room into the OR, nothing, it was Versad they gave me, so you don't remember anything. I feel great. I am down 11 pounds in 5 days, not hungry, I have not taken a pain pill through this whole thing and the worst part is the gas, which is minimal now. When they band off a portion of your stomach, does anyone know the size of the top part of your stomach that the food will sit in for a few hours? :eek:

Mine is 2 days preop, clear liquids. 30 days wow, never heard of that.

I have BC BS of Illinois through Sara Lee, my husband is in Teamsters. Look in your book to see if it's an exclusion, if it's not an exclusion then it a covered benefit. Call your plan administrator at the human resource dept.

I saw Gas X today in the strip form, has anyone seen that, it's like the Listerine Strips that melt on your tongue, I was wondering if this would work. Walmart did not have liquid Gas x and saw the strips and thought it would be great. Any opionion?
