Hey future sleevers! I am so excited! I get mine tomorrow the 27th. I still can't believe it! After jumping through all the insurance hoops, I got approved and I get to use the surgeon that I originally visited. The hospital had replaced him after he let them know he was going to start his own practice. So I followed him instead of having the fresh out of residency surgeon. I am excited to hear how all of us do in our personal journey. I especially liked reading the posts about how people have answered questions from people inquiring about weight loss. I think major changes in eating habits is what I am going to stick with. Good luck everyone!

Do you mind if I ask why you are removing band? I have read about others switching from the band to the sleeve also. I am just curious. Good luck to you

I had my band removed because I was constantly having to unfill after a fill... Due to my sinus and allergies I would developed a mucus plug that kept me from getting Breakfast and lunch down every day...constantly tossing at least one meal a day. So they would unfill the band a bit, and then I would have no restriction and felt like I could eat Big Mac....sooooo wasn't for me..

I too had my band removed after 6 years. I really liked my band but for past 2 years I began vomiting all the time. food would get stuck for some reason. The sad thing is that I lost 80 pounds and gained about 40 back. I was so disgusted with myself. I am almost three weeks post surgery ( was sleeved 11/7/12) and I am doing great. I've lost 22 pounds and for once in my life I have not been hungry and sometimes forget to eat! I was back to work in 10 days. I am still on liquids and Protein Powder but I feel great. I'm on liquids for 5 weeks post op and then on to puréed! This was the best til give done for myself. I hope others feel the same as me! Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
