Constant Pain

Recommended Posts

I am so fed up right now. I am in constant pain taking 3 tsp of hydrocodone just to make it because I feel like I have a fist in my chest. I've been banded since Aug/2005. My doctor won't even call in Phenergan for me. N or will his office page anyone, I spent 4 hours in the ER and finally left when they had 72 pts ahead of me.

If only I had known I was going to be in this much pain I would have never had this surgery. I might have been fat, but at least I lived life w/o pain killers. :)

Why haven't you seen another doctor? I would think a second opinion would be warranted in your situation.

Carrie,

Could something else be going on? Perhaps it's not the band, have you had the same pain before???..... I think you should pursue another medical avenue right away if it continues... chest pain is not a good symptom...

Bless you.

I work in the medical field for a group of specialty surgeons. I see over 300 people a week and honestly I don't have time to see anyone. I finally got to the point I was hurting so bad today that I had to leave and go downstairs to the ER.

I have requested my records and hubby's from our surgeon and spoken to a different surgeon's office. I know that in many cases they charge a transfer fee IF they will even see you. The new surgeon's office is supposed to get in touch with me by Thursday.

I have a 2 year old daughter who I did this for and I am so hiped up on pain killers right now I feel like I am missing out anyways.

I feel like I have been abandoned by my doctor and left to be in pain.

Why won't your doctor see you?? You really need to get an unfill under flouroscopy or a barium swallow ASAP. How long has this pain been going on and why do you need Phenergran? That is normally for nausea, are you nauseated as well?

Once again, exactly what I was going to ask. (Leatha, get out of my head! :) ) Carrie, what is going on and for how long have you been feeling this way? Where are you with regard to fills?

Hi Carrie - So sorry to hear you are having pain right now. I encourage you to put yourself first and find out what is really going on. It is difficult to take care of others without taking care of yourself. Keep us posted & will be thinking about you.

I ended up taking 3 tsp of hydrocodone every 3 hours last night, I kept waking up in pain.

I have a 10:15 appt with SCOR to have some Fluid removed. Then I am probably going to head over to the Baylor ER to try and be seen again. Hoepfully they can do a scan and tell me why I am hurting so bad if SCOR can't find it.

I called my doctor's office again this morning. They don't care. He is out of town until Monday as is his office manager. They are right around the corner from SCOR and I will be there to pick up mine and my hubby's medical records as soon as I finish with SCOR.

I'm sick of being ignored and treated like a bother.

Who is on call when he's away? Something isn't right here.. I hope you get it resolved soon. Does SCOR look at your band under flouro? I think you definitely need to have that done.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
