I was just thinking about this when I woke up. I have had horribly dry skin since being banded. I vaguely remember that my thigh was itching like crazy in the middle of the night and remember scratching it. This morning, it's all bruised. It looks like someone grabbed me too hard. I've noticed this before also.

Bruising easily can be a sign of Anemia, which is usually battled by taking Iron. I have become a little Anemic in the last year (banded 2 years). I'm not sure why I'm anemic now this far out... but thinking about it, I may not have had my blood taken for a really long time.... lol

might be B12, which is found in animal protein, helps with clotting, etc. Lack of B12 can also cause crazy itching and sensitivity to spicy and acidic food. This is common in vegetarians, and they often need a supplement. Or could be from aspirin or ibuprofen, which can affect your platelets and cause bruising.

Were you given clexane in hospital? It's a blood thinning agent, administered via injection each day of hosptial stay to avoid deep vein thrombosis / blood clots after surgery. I have large bruises around the injection sites.

Ok....I did some searching. Bruising is common with a vitamin K deficiency. Vitamin K is found in green leafy veggies, cheese, and liver.....and I have been eating NONE of those. Hope this helps.

Anyone else get big bruises all over or easily after the band. I am getting tons

Gummie mine were horrible and nasty. They took about a month to go away. It looked like my body went through war. Makes you wonder what they did while you were under, eh?? lol...

I just had my gall bladder out and I am horribly bruised but in my case it's due to the shots they gave me to prevent blood clots.

Hope you heal quickly!
