Dr. Boynton, you?

I'm from central NJ, and had my surgery on 10/21 with Dr. Forrester from NJ bariatric center @ Overlook Hospital..

Hi Ladypmendoza- was your surgery on the 25th?

Yes it was. I came home yesterday. In some pain and discomfort because of the gas. But I have been progressing so I'm sure I will be back to "normal" very soon!

Dr. Boynton, you?

My doctor is Dr. Wasser from Virtua Surgical Specialist. He has been great during my journey.

Ladymendoza, I've been reading that a lot of people had to pay they're deductible and other fees upfront before their surgery, was that the case for you at Virtua and with your doctor? I'm getting nervous because I have insurance, don't have a load of cash.

I used Virtua and did not have to pay anything upfront.

Hi Sanddee -If your dr is participating in your network meaning he has a contract with yiur insurance carrier then they should not be looking for payment at this point-also if you do have a deductible that you have to meet that would be determined after they bill your insurance..

Ladypmendoza glad to hear everything went well. ..im still antsy I have my protein shakes..will start on the 2nd.

Thanks guys, this really puts my mind at ease. One of the reasons I love this site, so much great information!

I had to pay my co pay every time I went to the doctors which was $10 each visit and I also had a one time program fee of $250 which paid for all my shakes and any and all meetings, additional nut visit, etc. I haven't had to pay any additional fees.

Thank you. The pre op diet wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but if you can avoid strawberry. Strawberry was difficult to swallow.

I'm doing well. I'm still a little sore but only when I've done too much. I'm down 30 lbs. since I've started my journey. This is definitely the best decision I've ever made. How are things for you?
