Clear Liquid Stage, Must Try!

I didnt want anything but tea and water after surgery. I found the hospital broth and crystal light gross. I just went to the store and picked up Knorr Homestyle Stock and Ensure Clear Liquid peach flavor. The broth is seriously the best tasting broth I have ever had and I found the clear ensure to be tasty and it has 9 grams of protein. Its hard to find things easy to drink after surgery but these two are winners in my book!

Tamara,

I just wanted to point out that while the ensure has 0 fat, 9 grams of protein, it does have 35 grams of carbs. It was suggested by my NUT to keep a close eye on carbs and especially those that contain a lot of sugar.

Have you tried the Nectar brand from Syntax yet? It is a clear liquid mix too. It has 0 fat & 0 carbs. I ordered all the sample flavors from vitalady and like most of them. I hope I haven't come across as preaching, I just wanted to make sure you knew there were other options out there.

I wish you a speedy recovery!

Jonathan, Thank you so much for mentioning the carbs, I had absolutely no idea! Im not suppose to have that kind of sugar either. When I saw the ensure was a clear liquid with protein I was so focused on it being clear I didnt check the label. I definitely dont want to be putting that much sugar in my new little sleeve, I will have to try the nectar, where can I purchase it? Thanks again!!

my husband is so against me having any protein because it isnt listed on my clear list. Did you surgeon say it was ok to consume during the first week after surgery? I wonder if the protein is too hard to digest for a new pouch?

My surgeon OK'd clear proteins while I the clear phase. I used the following:

Isopure zero carb (ready to drink)

Syntax Nectar unflavored (mixed into juices & unsweetened herbal iced teas)

Unjury powders mixed with water
