Canadian Bandster Bash

Here is the link for the Bandster Bash being held in May 07 in Mississauga (ie. Toronto).

I know there is probably a lot of talk about it on that "other" Canadian band site (LOL) but I haven't seen any alluding to it here.

So here ya go for those who are interested.

I actually got the info and site from an Australian!! How ironic is that!

Carol, your restaurant sounds wonderful, is it in Toronto? If you don't want to answer, I understand. But I would love to check it out some day.

Woody your restaurant looks very nice. Menu sounds great. Is your restaurant overlooking the falls .Wish it was closer to my area.

Thanks Loriely....it is a nice little place and my husband is great at what he does. We are about 1 block walking distance from the falls and locks.

It sounds so nice. I have never been to Fenelon Falls. I actually don't even know which direction it is, I've heard of it though. Maybe I should take my hubby there for his birthday, it's at the end of October. Would it bother you if I did?

You can visit us anytime you like....call ahead, tis the season for private parties. 887-9292

We are 15 minutes from Bocaygeon and 20 minutes from Lindsay.

You dont' pay an additional $70 for the dinner. That is included with your registration fee along with the rest of your food for the weekend. You just pay for your room on top of the registration fee. They break it down to the dinner only because some people don't do the conference part and just go for dinner. Last year it was a murdery mystery dinner theme and I'm sure they are doing something different more than just dinner again.

Here's the details from the website.

Fees to register for the entire 2007 Canadian Bandster Bash

are: $ 175.00 Cdn$ ($150.00 US$)

Special: $150.00 for the full weekend if you register & pay by

Dec. 31, 2006

The $175.00 fee includes use of the conference facilities at the DELTA MEADOWVALE RESORT, admissions to all presentations and educational activities, Friday night Welcome Party, Saturday Brunch and Dinner, and Sunday Breakfast. It also includes admission to the vendor area, a registration bag with bandster related merchandise and samples from the different vendors present at this years conference.

Other Registration Options:

$125.00 for Saturday only excluding dinner

$70.00 for Saturday dinner only

Tracey let me know there was some confusion as to the bash... the dinner price is also seperate because there are a lot of people who only want to bring their significant other to the dinner and not to all the conferences. So for the price of the bash everything is included, except the hotel room.

This means lectures by surgeons, there is usually a specialist in plastic surgery and specialists in dealing with body image and things like head hunger. The speakers aren't booked yet, but they usually are great at getting very good speakers and they try to split the focus for new bandsters and more senior bandsters topics. The total price also includes all of your food and we customize our menu so that the food is bandster friendly as much as possible.

It is usually a great weekend which lets you connect with people who have been through or are going through what you are. And it is always great to put faces to names.

The Canadian Lapbanders also arrange a monthly meeting for those who are local to Toronto and we have several people who attend. We try and mix up the location around the city for people to get there easier.

*not sure where they thought the confusion was*

no confusion here. Gave site for info is all.

Bottom Line, it is still $70 for dinner if you don't reg. for the conference.

I think I may attend the Bash, does anyone else plan on going?

I think it would be worth a look especially since I have not had much contact with other bandsters except for a few posts on this site. I am much more personal in person. It may be hard to believe but in real life I'm a pretty nice guy who has a great sense of humour. (At least thats what my wife says)

Any way maybe we can all post and indicate whether we plan to attend the bash. My sugestion would be to offer one of four possibilities

1. Definitly plan to attend the bash

2. I Am seriously considering attending

3. Maybe but doubtful

4. Not a snowballs chance in Hell

Put me down as

I Am seriously considering attending

Cheers

Since I have the joy of helping plan it I think I just might be there. We love meeting new people and I know the guys love meeting new guys and seeing how they are progressing.
