Anyone Know About Cobra Insurance

My insurance ended on the first & Cobra was suppose to kick in & hasn't yet. My surgery is Sept 19 . I'm stressing now on top of not being able to eat, I'm on day 2 of my liquid diet & very frustrated .I talked to HR & they're suppose to take care of it, I just hope it's soon. If anyone knows anything please let me know.

There technically should be no lapse in coverage. Have you paid the premium? I would bug my HR department everyday until I had formal documentation. When I got divorced, my ex who was on my insurance got a letter about a week before his coverage ended from COBRA with a letter detailing the payments and coverage details. There was no lapse in coverage and he had 1 month to pay the first premium or it would retrospectively be cancelled. You should have received this by now. Be persistent with your HR!!!
