Hi Ladies and for those of you who surgery is today I hope all is well. Rachel I didn't call you Jim did I??? Sometimes I am a little dingy sorry if I did. So Steph and Jakat I guess you guys are sleeping away right now. How long are you guys taking off? I have been trying to cut back on the carbs and trying to get exercise in but been under the weather recently....but I will SURVIVE. After my succcessful weightloss and surgery I hope to be singing it's RAINING STRAIGHT MEN!!! lol...Yes Steph its sad to hear about Iggy I read what is going on with her and hope all will be well with her. From what I read I guess this is very rare what happen to her. Well guys lets all keep in contact and keep each other motivated!!!!

I'm very pre-op and I have my first appointment with the nut and exercise physiologist tomorrow. I'm going to Tri-Health weight management center at Good Sam hospital. I'm nervous. I've lost some weight since I first met with them a couple of months ago and I'm now under 40 BMI (just under). I'm nervous and just wanted to touch base with some others in the area that have already past the stage I'm at. I'm nervous about gaining weight and getting rejected like I did before. I had breast cancer and I have to tell you the treatment was a breeze compared to this. No question about insurance covering it and everyone treats you so nice. I'm afraid my past experience is going to sabotage this. Although I do feel more ready for it then I did then. I was more desperate then. I haven't been heavy long just the last 7 of my 51 years. But it was a fast ride up the weight scale.

I'm rambling. I'll end this now.

Hi Mickie stay positive I haven't been approved I just started the process hopefully one of the ppl who had it done will answer any of your questions.Good luck

Hi everyone.. Well I am day 2 post-op.. I feel pretty good.. So good that I overdid it today and felt horriable this evening.. I went in for surgery at 12:30 and I was able to go home at 6pm!!! I can't believe it.. For the most part, I feel really good.. Still taking pain meds, but haven't had to take anything for nausea.. The entire staff at Dr. Currys office are all rock stars!! Rachel & Jakat.. Hope you guys are doing well!!

Mickie & Lynn.. My approval went really fast.. I had my initial consult on July 17, scope on aug 6th and surgery on the 24 th.. I didn't have to lose any weight prior to surgery, just the 14 day liquid diet required by dr. Curry..

Oh, and due to my physical requirements at work, I will be taking the entire 4 weeks allowed.. Hope some of this helps..

Now just waiting to hear from jakat to see how her surgery went as well :))

Yes Need me too. Surgery at 8ish and release about 3. First night and following day pretty sore, but pain meds took most of that away. Have not had a BM yet, gas yes. still struggling to get enough protein and water in.

aww jakat i'm glad to hear from you!! I'm glad your surgery went well! and I hear you, I'm still struggling to get in enough liquids and protein so I bought unflavored powder to put in everything. it's helping. and I found these shakes at costco that have 30 g for one shake so when i get some $$ i'm gonna buy them lol and i took one laxative to have a bm during the first week. but now mine are becoming a bit more normal.. so best of luck and i pray for fast recovery for you!!

Rachel

Oh thats great Steph I was wondering how long you have to stay in the hosp..I am trying to stay positive and with that I am not sure if I want to continue to come on here because unfortunately I have been reading some of the ppl back experiences and YES I know that is the rare....but I have to be honest it scares me a lil and I have sooooooooooooooo much to lose. Good job Rachel I see you are down 18lbs WOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOO..Good luck Steph how you feel better

Hey lynn!! thanks for the congrats! it's just so crazy that I can say I'm under 250 now.. and my bmi is high 37 like 37.9 or something.. I'll take it! lol I can't even remember the last time I was under 250! My lowest recent weight ( since before the surgery) was 255, then I ballooned back up to 285 earlier this year! so it's just amazing really.. I'm still think i'm loosing it slowly though, but it is because i still need to get in all my protein and exercise but yayy lol I hope all is going well for you!

Rach look at you hot mamma... nice pic...I will post mine once I get under 250lb right now both my chins can't fit

in the pics.....So do you feel like you have a lil energy? I completely understand what you mean about weight going

up and down my highest was about 303lbs and now I got on the scale I am about 287...I have been trying not to buy

junk food and eat more meals, since I have been reading on here that It will probably be about a couple of months before

I will feel like eating solid foods so I am practing eating more veggies and fruit. I can't wait to have energy so I can finally

start to go out a lil more. Not really into the bar scene but maybe some type of single club meeting would be nice. ttyl.
