My surgery is scheduled for Aug. 1. I am also really excited and really scared! I would love to keep in touch since we are having it done so close together.

Sounds great! Do you have to go on a 2 week pre-op liquid diet? I've been reading different posts and it looks like the pre-op instructions vary by doctor.

I think they must vary also. Most people seem to have to do 2 weeks preop liquid. My Dr. told me I need to start liquids on July 25, so that is just 1 week before surgery. They also said I would be on liquids for 3 weeks after.

One of the biggest concerns I have is that I have to stop taking estrogen 2 weeks prior to surgery and 3 weeks after. Can you say HOT FLASHES?!?!?!?!? My doctor told me it was necessary to decrease the chance of blood clots.

I am not on estrogen, but do have hot flashes! I feel for you! They must all worry a lot about blood clots. I was told I would go home on blood thinners and because I live 5 hours away, would have to stop every hour and walk around.
