Question

I hope it's not inappropriate for me to be posting here. I don't have any complications (my surgery isn't until 9/20), but I've been reading your posts to get an idea about what to expect. People keep mentioning PBs. What is that?

The initials PB stand for Productive Burp. It is a type of throwing up, although, all that is in the pouch to be thrown up is a small amount of chewed food, and lot's of saliva. No stomach acids etc. It is worse than a burp in my opinion, but nothing like heaving and throwing up either. It is usually following food not being chewed enough, or eating too much. It is painful, in the way that you are too full. The feeling prior to the PB is referred to as a "golfball" because it feels too full, like you have a golfball lodged behind your breastbone. Thankfully, with proper chewing, and not drinking with meals, I have avoided the PB of late!!! It is not a daily happening, don't worry!!! Good Luck to you!
