How to Appeal?

Has anyone received an approval from their appeal quickly? Like, within 10 days? Or over the phone? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it...

I was denied 3x with BCBSIL. I just kept calling & asking what they needed to get approved. If they hadn't approved after the 3rd time, I was having my doctor get involved with the insurance company before we filed an appeal. Happily, I was approved & had my surgery 10-12. Good luck to you. Don't give up b/c the sleeve is the best gift you can give yourself. Jan

hi, i have medicare as my primary. they don't cover the sleeve, so it needs to be denied within 30 days AFTER the surgery, then my paper work is sent to my secondary ins. Empire BCBS I have been told by them i have been pre- approved but nothing is for sure til i get official good word. Then i'll breath easy.

I have a BMI of 39, but I have 4 morbitities (right word?) Diabetes, high chlor & high blood pressure and sleep apnea. Isn't is great to have a bunch of problems? lololol even though i don't have the 40 BMI - with all my other probs-your opinion is i probably will be approved?

I was approved (after a few small fights) with a BMI of 37 & only 2 comorbidities-sleep apnea & high cholesterol. Good luck to you & hope you get your approval soon. Jan
