Seeking Success Stories

Recommended Posts

Hello! I am rapidly approaching the date of surgery. I do not have an official date but have 2 more things left to do before it is set. I was just wanting to hear some opinoins on the sleeve and see if there were some good success stories. The doctor offered me a bypass or a sleeve and I went with the sleeve for several reasons. Several of my family and friends are iffy about the situation and I would like to hear some good things!! Thanks!

With the sleeve you will eventually be able to eat everything again (just in smaller portions). No malabsorption. I have waited for years for the right kind of WLS to come along researching everything that had come out before and only got my engine going when I started to research the sleeve. I am a happy sleever at just over 5 months out and soon will have lost 100lbs. I am going to be dancing that day.:D

Do your research and make sure you feel completely comfortable with your decision. I did and chose the sleeve.

My daughter and I got sleeved on June 10 and it was the best decision she and I have ever made. We originally went for the plication surgery but the sleeve better met out needs. I wasn't wanting the bypass because of malabsorbtion.

We both went to Mexico and had a great experience.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
