I have just had the same problem and they found after the barium swallow that it didn't look right. My surgeon said it didn't look like a slip but something was wrong. I had surgery last week and he said it was a slip but nothing that he has ever seen before. It was like some of the stomach had crept up into the band so that my stomach was looped which is why nothing would stay down. Persist with your surgeon, you have to! I was so sick for two weeks that I was fainting all the time, vomiting a lot and was dehydrated terribly. Your health is worth more of his time. I've been banded for over a year so I never thought it would be a slip but unfortunately it was.

I had my band inserted March 28th o6. I had my 1st fill June 16th. 3cc, in a 4cc's band. It hurts when I bend over, Anyone had this problem after a fill?:)

re: "What the hells going on??? Do I need my band replaced???"

That's exactly the questions your SURGEON should be answering.....

good luck and keep us posted....

Hi Lisa,

No, I never had that feeling but it may be due to having such a tight fill possibly. I have never heard of a doctor filling you 3ccs on your first fill. That is an AWFULLY big fill. Most docs start out with anywhere from .5cc to 1.5 cc max. I know I probably would of been in a lot of pain if i was filled that much from the get-go. But then again this is only my 2 cents and I am not a doctor so I would definitely check with your doc about the pain ASAP. Good luck to you!!

Sorry about your problem ChanelLover - I think you should seek another bariatric surgeons opinion. Yours doesn't sound like he knows what's going on.

Lisa - 3 cc's in a 4 cc band for a first fill? ! I couldn't swallow my own spit with 1.7 ccs and had to have some out. Something is up with 3 cc's so early. Can you eat and drink? Yikes that sounds like a lot of fill. Are you sure you have a 4 cc band? Double check that.
