July 6, 200620 yr I saw my doc today and we finally scheduled my first fill. I asked him if he knew how much he wanted to put and he said 3mm. It seems to me that, that might be a bit much for my first fill. Am I wrong?
July 6, 200620 yr Depends on your band and your surgeon. I am going today for my first fill in a 10ml (cc) VanGuard band and they are going to put in 3ml (cc). It is what my surgeon does for the first fill for all his VanGuard bands. Some surgeons will fill aggressively some won't. M

I'll let you know tomorrow how mine goes this afternoon. Myra
July 6, 200620 yr I am having my first fill next week. I too also have a Vangaurd band. When I asked my dr what his intention was for a first fill he said 5cc. Said they try to be aggressive the first fill and if its too tight they can take some out.
July 6, 200620 yr Heather just finished my first fill. They put 4 cc in my VanGuard. The tech actually had 5 cc in the syringe but only put four in. Barium swallow was done while I was laying on the table. Got up went to the waiting room to drink a cup of Water. Had to wait 30 minutes and then I was able to leave. M
