Official: FitBit Thread

I need a way to keep track of the calories I am burning doing my Couch to 5k and just being active. Is the Fitbit worth buying for this purpose? For those who have Fitbit's do you like them? How do they work?

I have one. And, I will say I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it! It not only tracks the calories you burn, but it tracks your sleep AND the amount of steps you take. It is definitely a motivation tool. I

I have a body bug, like the ones on the biggest loser, and until I read this post, and checked out the fitbit website I loved my body bug. This fit bit seems to use different technology than the body

  • I LOVE my fitbit! I was lucky enough to get it free from work (I'm taking part in a study). I like that it not only tracks your steps but your intensity as well - so I can look on the chart and see

I have finally found a tracker that is much more accurate in counting my steps, two actually - Misfit Shine & Misfit Flash. It is still a bit short, maybe 2-4%, but no where near the 20-30% of a FitBit Zip or Jawbone UP.

I have a Fitbit Alta, runs about $150 on Amazon. I love it. Tracks, food and liquid intake, steps, activity, weight (with you input) and sleep. I may not be the most accurate as a medical device, but it is "good enough" for our purposes.

It reminds me to get up and get busy, "let's rock and roll," reminds me it's time to settle down and get ready for bed, etc. And the Alta is not the most advanced Fitbit.

As with any tool, you have to be honest in what you input or you'll get bad output. I do know I love it and it has helped me - I started losing again after I started tracking.

I know this is a fitbit thread but I didn't like the fitbit at all. I thought the Garmin was a far better fitness tracker.
