help! can I still have surgery?

The clerk called from my pcp's office today and said she couldn't send my surgeon a two year weight history because they didn't see me at all in 2010! I'm so pissed. The two year weight history is required by Aetna. What can I do now? Any advice? Please help.

I didn't get my 2 year weight history from my PCP for the same reason - I got it from my obgyn instead. Maybe try that?

Ooooo. I did see my GYN last year. Can't remember if they recorded my weight though. Maybe they did??? Little hope????

Any luck? Got my fingers crossed for ya!

Called my GYN's office today and got my 2010 weight history. The surgeon's office said my insurance will take it and I'm back on track! Thanks for asking. You guys are the BEST!

Hello...

I too have Aetna and had the exact same problem. I am going through a "Center of Excellence" who has special credentialing with Aetna. They made me get a letter from my Dr showing that I was "dieting" and working with a trainer during my low BMI period, I had only 3 visits in 5 years and 2 were low BMI's. They assure me that will be ok since I have the documentation, I do have to see the dietitian three months on top of that. Is the Dr. that you plan on using part of "A Center of Excellence"?

Good luck...

Yay! I'm glad everything worked out!

Happy,

My doc is part of a Center of Excellence too. I also have to do the 12 weeks of nutrition counseling, that started May 16th. Ugh. Feels like forever.

Bryn,

Thanks for checking on me :)

Wow, sounds like we are in the exact same stage..I'll add you as a friend.

You're welcome! It's easy to get lost on the boards in all the hubbub and I didn't want that to happen to you. ;)
