Any Suggestions Would Be Appreciated

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 05/02/11 and as of 05/12/11 have been on pureed foods and seem to be doing well with that. My questions are as follows and any suggestions or advise would be appreciated.

I still feel a little weak and tired. I am following my doctors orders to the tee and taking my Vitamins as prescripted.

Secondly, the itching is out of control and making me crazy. The areas are healing nicely and I am avoiding scrathcing, but how have others handled this phase.

Thanks for the input all!~ Ann

It's normal for you to still feel weak. You just had major surgery. Just try to get some rest when you can. Hopefully this feeling will go away soon.

As for the itching, I just dealt with it. Yes, it drove me crazy. But I was worried about what I could use.

Sorry I cant be more help :(

The itching did drive me crazy for awhile and then one day it stopped. I made sure I did not scratch at them because I wanted them to heal.

It will go away but for now it is just a fact of life.

Go to GNC, get some Vit E cream for your incisions. That will help healing and should prevent itching. As for weakness, consult your dr to see if some Iron supplements are in order for awhile. After all, you had major surgery, your body was traumatized by that, so it seems that you may be needing some more nutritional support. Check with your doctor first, tho. Good luck!! Glad you had your surgery.

As long as there is no swelling, redness or rash, itching means healing. I itched too, but it went away pretty quickly and all was better.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
